Digitization is the focus of many exhibitors and the topic of the trade fair rally
The waiting is over: From 11 to 15 September, anyone who is anyone in the joining, cutting and surfacing industry will be at SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN 2023 at Messe Essen. This will include over 800 exhibitors from 40 countries, who will be showcasing their innovative products and services. Market leaders such as Lincoln, ESAB, MicroStep, ABICOR BINZEL, EWM, Fronius, Messer Cutting and voestalpine will be out in force, as will numerous hidden champions, start-ups, research institutions and associations. Oliver P. Kuhrt, CEO of Messe Essen: “Indeed, the world-leading fair is continuing to cover the entire international value chain. The interest from exhibitors and visitors is tremendous. Along with our partner the German Welding Society (DVS), we are absolutely delighted to be able to offer the sector a high-quality, customised platform, developed with innovations, lead generation, investment decisions and the exchange of professional knowledge in mind.”
An optimised hall layout makes taking part in the trade fair simple and effective. As such, Halls 1 to 5 focus on welding whereas Halls 6 to 8 are home to the cutting exhibitors. “This strategic layout ensures that it is easy for visitors to find what they are looking for and that trade visitors are able to find products such as surface technology, heat treatment, gases, consumables, filler materials, equipment, health, safety, quality assurance, services and digitalisation just a stone’s throw away”, explains Christina Kleinpaß, Head of Project at SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN.
Interactive digitalisation rally offers innovations with added value
This year digital innovations are an important topic among exhibitors. For the first time, trade visitors will have the opportunity at SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN to find out about digital best practices in terms of industrial interaction between machines, humans, AI and software by means of a rally involving certain companies. In cooperation with the IndustryFusion Foundation (IFF) and the DVS, this offer is developed which guides participants to the widest range of companies across the entire trade fair grounds. Trade visitors are able to talk to companies on a one-to-one basis and find out more about their products and services guided by the SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN App. The App is available for download in the App Store and Play Store. DVS Managing Director Dr. Eng. Roland Boecking explains: “Digitalisation in welding technology enables the functional merging of manufacturing processes and information technologies as well as innovative digital further education and training for welders. Indeed, the rally is an excellent opportunity to discover an entirely new level of workflows in operational and business processes.”
