The event is drawing near: 35.BIMU, the international biennial exhibition dedicated to the manufacturing industry of metal forming and metal cutting machine tools, robots, automation, digital and additive manufacturing, auxiliary and enabling technologies will take place at fieramilano Rho from 13 to 16 October.
Five months before the trade show, a large number of companies have already confirmed their participation in the exhibition, including some major enterprises and many industry leaders returning to exhibit. Promoted by UCIMU and organised by EFIM-ENTE FIERE ITALIANE MACCHINE, 35.BI-MU will spotlight state-of-the-art digitalised and interconnected machines and technologies, which have integrated Industry 4.0 solutions, automation systems and AI, capable of enabling the processes that are typical of the digital factory.
The exhibition will be set up in the Halls 22 and 24 of the fieramilano Rho Exhibition Centre, with possibility of extending into Hall 13 as well, which is located just opposite the two halls currently in use.

In addition to machine tools, there will be 7 technological themes:
Along with the technology exhibition, 35.BI-MU will present a series of thematic cultural in-depth initiatives of interest to professionals visiting the event.
Considering the increasing number of trade shows and networking initiatives organised by single companies at their premises, the trade fair world is focusing on a more and more hybrid formula, combining product presentations with a “cultural offering”, which, for this edition of BI-MU, will include numerous new activities.
In addition to the meetings focused on the technological trends characterising the manufacturing industry of machine tools, robotics and automation, and on the presentations of new products by single companies, new features in this edition of BI-MU are the Forums dedicated to two sectors having the most interesting growth potential and a particularly dynamic demand: Aerospace & Defence and Energy.
The two events entitled “90 Minutes with the World of Aerospace & Defence” scheduled for Wednesday 14 October, and “90 Minutes with the World of Energy” on Thursday 15 October will feature a panel discussion involving four representatives from some of the leading companies, ranging from large, medium and small-sized enterprises and covering the broad spectrum of companies that make up each sector.

What are the current challenges, what are the main needs related to production processes in the companies operating in these sectors and what are the specific requirements for suppliers of production technology? These are just some of the questions that will be addressed by the guests taking part in the round-table discussion. With these Forums, BI -MU broadens its horizons, as it will offer operators attending the trade show an appropriate analysis of the most interesting business opportunities for exhibitors, through the speeches of some of the leading figures in these sectors.
After all, the exhibition will take place in a period of full applicability with regard to the Hyper-Depreciation incentive, thus allowing operators to benefit from the advantages related to this measure, which will certainly support domestic demand remained at a standstill over the last few months.
For young people, the project dedicated to Education & Skills will be back again, with ROBOTGAMES as its flagship event. Launching in its second edition, this is the automation and robotics contest promoted by UCIMU Academy and organised by EFIM for high-school students. On Thursday 15 October, the 12 finalist teams, representing 11 school institutes from across Italy, will compete by presenting their innovative robotic automation projects for industrial applications. The area dedicated to the schools invited to take part in BI-MU by independent or tutor-guided tours, will be enlivened by a series of meetings focused on new generations throughout the four exhibition days.
In addition, for students of Higher Technical Institutes (ITS Academies), AITA-Italian Association of Additive Technologies and EFIM are promoting the organisation of Additive Future Lab, the new national contest introducing young talent to additive manufacturing technologies, which are playing an increasingly central role in industrial processes. The award-ceremony will take place in the AMITALY area on 16 October.
A new initiative for this edition will also be BI-MU FUTURTECH AWARDS, awards celebrating the most innovative solutions in manufacturing featured at the exhibition. The contest is open to the participation of exhibitors at 35.BI-MU, who can compete in three categories: mechanical innovation, digitalisation, sustainability. The initiative highlights the value of the trade show to operators as an event capable of documenting and anticipating the technological advances in the world of industrial production.
As usual, all the award-ceremonies, along with the thematic, cultural in-depth meetings, will be held at the BI-MUpiù Arena, which will also host the opening ceremony of the event scheduled for the morning of Tuesday, 13 October.
To make it easier for trade visitors to reach the exhibition, by train as well, for this edition of BI-MU, a high-speed train stop will be activated directly at the fair venue.
