AI on the EDGE for real time monitoring of performance drifting in tool machines: this is the theme we are bringing to SSI Conference 2024 in the poster session scheduled for Tuesday, April 16th from 5:45 to 7:30 pm.

AI ON THE EDGE FOR REAL TIME MONITORING OF PERFORMANCE DRIFTING IN TOOL MACHINES

Inside a discrete manufacturing shopfloor different machine tools work on machining the same items through different cascade work-phases. Moreover, the working condition of each machine changes according to the type of material, product type, tool and external variables.

Due to limited storage and computing resources, an AI on the EDGE is able to deal with uses where operational conditions are continuously changing. It needs to operate within a distributed AI solution where different technics can cooperate.

Specific algorithms on the EDGE may now interoperate with knowledge databases to monitor machine variables and to recognize drifting of the operational conditions.
