CATAS FOR THE SECOND TIME AT INTERZUM

Catas for the second time will be attending Interzum, the major international exhibition dedicated to the universe of materials and components for the furniture industry, which will be held May 20-23. A confirmation of the effectiveness of this event for the international dynamics of Catas, the most important European testing and certification laboratory for the wood-furniture sector.

In the Boulevard Central (in stand B089, between halls 4 and 10), Catas technicians will be present to meet the operators who will arrive at Interzum from all over the world, presenting the many activities of the laboratory with a special focus on product safety issues, in the light of European Regulation 2023/988, which came into force last December 13, as well as the many issues related to the European “Green Deal” that also involve the furniture world, between “Ecodesign,” “digital passports” for products and “right to repair.”

“The challenges required by a now indispensable focus on the topics of product safety and their sustainability, in the broadest sense of the term, are increasingly numerous and concretely engage companies in new territories”, commented Paolo Tirelli, director of the Italian laboratory since January 1 of this year.

“Interzum represents for us at Catas a valuable opportunity to respond to the questions of a sector in profound evolution, reaffirming our strong international vocation: not everyone may know that our laboratories collaborate with more than two thousand companies around the world, including many German companies. And it will also be an important moment to further enhance the prestigious collaborations with IHD-Institut für Holztechnologie in Dresden and WKI-Fraunhofer Institute for wood research in Braunschweig”, Tirelli concluded.

Catas is a joint stock company whose shareholders are the Pordenone-Udine Chamber of Commerce, FederlegnoArredo Eventi, Banca di Cividale, Confindustria Udine, Aial-Italian Association of wood craftsmen, Cna-National confederation of Como craftsmen, Association of small and medium Industries of Friuli Venezia Giulia-Confapi FVG and Confartigianato Udine. The “headquarters” in San Giovanni al Natisone (Udine) has been joined over the years by the Catas Brianza office in Lissone (Monza Brianza) and the Catas Point in Pesaro.
