The finishing touches are being put to the 2026 edition of Xylexpo, the biennial international exhibition of technologies for the wood and furniture industry, now at its 29th edition.
The event will be staged from June 9 to 12, 2026, in Halls 14 and 18 at FieraMilano-Rho: about 150 exhibitors will cover an area of 15 thousand square meters, in a timeframe – we repeat once more – dictated by the impact of the Milano-Cortina Olympics on the fairgrounds.
The upcoming edition puts the focus on the big topic of multimateriality: actually, in Hall 18, Xylexpo is hosting the expo-conference Composites Future, an event dedicated to composite materials and their processing, with the involvement of Assocompositi, the Italian association of this industry. The initiative is organized in collaboration with Plast, the international biennial exhibition dedicated to plastic and rubber, held concurrently with Xylexpo in neighboring halls.
This “trio” of events responds to the widespread demand of solutions that allow to create products that, more and more often, combine different materials.
“Again this year, Xylexpo will be a true reflection, and a strict one, of an industry that must face a totally “unexpected” geopolitical scenario – to put it lightly – and also a season of disruptive changes”, said Dario Corbetta, exhibition director. “The rise of new economies, the need to act globally, new materials and living styles have forced the wood technology industry to reconsider its role and purpose, making it clear that only the most diligent and prepared companies, with a strong vision of their future, will be able to seize the new opportunities”.
The exhibition will allow to see the most current technological trends, with an entry list mostly made up of Italian and European exhibitors.
Xylexpo 2026 is hosting delegations of international operators from over 25 countries, organized by Ice Agenzia. Eastern Europe, the Balkans, the Mediterranean region, the Middle and Far East, India and the Americas are the territories that, in this period, are showing strong interest for wood and furniture industry technology and will be in the forefront among Xylexpo visitors.
Xylexpo Arena is also back, a venue for events, meetings, conversations, talk shows and seminars that will animate all Xylexpo days and will be broadcast via the Xylexpo Digital platform. The full updated agenda can be found at https://www.xylexpo.com/en/events/xylexpo-2026-arena-en .

Qualità Legno Group “Wood and building renovation”
The green transition of the built environment depends – also and mostly – on the capacity to regenerate existing buildings, turning living into a more sustainable, efficient and aware model, combining architectural quality, technological innovation and care for the environment. Reports with a common denominator: durability
Davide Maria Giachino, architect and professor “The durability project in architectural renovations with wood”
Franco Piva, engineer “The design of durability as an integral part of the building process”
Gianfranco Magri, engineer and expert of woodworms, termites and moisture “From mechanical engineering to the culture of durability (production units as vital rings)”

Roundtable “Building health: the healthiness of wood and its extreme versatility”
The sustainability of construction derives from a good design of the building envelope, passive systems for energy recovery, natural cooling systems, bioclimates, closed-loop natural construction materials, but most of all it is about wellness inside paces built while safeguarding the environment.
Claudia Bedini, engineer; Viviana Deruto, architect; Giovanna Fongaro, entrepreneur; Lucia Krasovec-Lucas, architect and expert of urban and human operations; Margherita Michelazzo, artist and geographer; Beatrice Spirandelli, architect
Moderator: Sonia Maritan, architect and trade journalist

LEI Wood Family “Wood has lost space, not demand”
The entire value chain is focusing on the user to promote a new vision of wellness in the home system. To improve the market’s awareness of wooden windows, very effective and constant communication is required, directly addressing customers through a team of experts who can develop such a communication plan. Relationships based on the progression: context → disruption → evidence → solution.
