Valencia, 15th July 2025.- FIMMA is revving up. The International Fair for Machinery and Tools for the Furniture, Carpentry and Decorating Trades (FIMMA) has officially started preparations for its next edition, due to take place alongside Maderalia from 10th to 13th November next year, 2026, at Feria Valencia. Some very ambitious objectives have been set for this next edition, geared to positioning the biennial as one of Europe’s major fairs for the industry.

Chaired once more by business leader Santiago Riera (Rierge), the Organizing Committee met last Thursda, 10th July, at Feria Valencia to set the main objectives for the next edition of FIMM. The committee comprises a broad representation of the industry, and includes Manuel Tarín, of Europea de Maquinaria; Lluís Biosca, of Felder Group Ibérica: Juan Manuel Álvarez, of Maesma Wood Technology and Guillermo Palomar, of Virutex, who join fellow business leaders Roberto de Cecilio, of Maquinaria Cecilio and José Sáez, of Maquinaria Disber, amongst others. As regards the management of the fair, this will once again be in yte hands of Alejandro Roda, of Feria Valencia.
One of the objectives tabled for this upcoming edition of FIMMA is to expand the scope and number of exhibitors and visitors who come to FIMMA + Maderalia, bringing these into line with the joint events’ true audience appeal, and grow, too, particularly internationally and in those markets that offer high added value. As was surmised after the event’s last edition, which was 30% bigger and welcomed more than 30,000 visitors from 63 countries, the 2026 fair will not just fully establish both FIMMA and Maderalia’s position in the European trade fair arena but will also be the year the fair “must take a decisive step forward” and position itself as one of Europe’s leading events, given how competing fairs have evolved, capitalizing on the strength of the FIMMA + Maderalia duo as a showcase that is unique in the world and is where professionals can find the biggest offering for their business under one roof.
As Committee chairman Santi Riera explains, the focus is on “growth in the international arena, based on expanding the offering from leading names in high added value markets, especially European markets, which can enhance our offering and the quality of that offering”. Riera claims that an objective has also been set to “increase the number of foreign trade buyers who visit, essentially from those markets that are very sensitive to the Spanish industry such as the countries of the Maghreb, Latin America and the European markets that are closer to us such as France, Italy and Portugal”.
The fair’s director Alejandro Roda explains in this regard that the basis for taking on this ambitious aim to “internationalize FIMMA” is a combination of the number of major European groups that have confirmed they will be exhibiting at FIMMA 2026 and the launch of an aggressive campaign to encourage international buyers to attend. This campaign is being run in partnership with public bodies and trade associations and is expected to have triple the budget of previous campaigns.
The Committee is also targeting diversifying the profile of the professionals who visit FIMMA, focusing as well on encouraging industry operators’ technicians and heads of production departments to visit, especially given that many of these operators will be exhibiting at Maderalia.
Equally, one significant measure the recent FIMMA Organizing Committee meeting approved was the booking and reservation timetable for companies interested in taking space at the fair. One of the most notable innovations in this regard is that exhibitors can pre-register to take part in FIMMA 2026 until 31st October and those signing their contracts by that date will gain access to a series of financial benefits in respect of other parts of the registration process.
After the summer both FIMMA and Maderalia will be resuming their schedule of promotional initiatives. The next stop on this route will be the upcoming edition of Feria Hábitat València, which runs from 29th September to 2nd October, with FIMMA + Maderalia setting up an information desk in the new ‘Contract 360 by Maderalia’ area.
As 2025 draws to a close, promotional initiatives will be taking place at events in Pordenone (Italy), Istanbul (Turkey) and Barcelona. Moving into next year, the biennial will be going full tilt ahead of November’s FIMMA + Maderalia at Feria Valencia, rolling out a range of promotional activities in Lyon (France), Nüremburg (Germany), Milan (Italy) and Porto (Portugal). A major presentation event is also being planned to be held at another key trade event, Feria Hábitat València 2026.
