
Powered by EISENWARENMESSE – International Hardware Fair, the 22nd China International Hardware Show (CIHS) now returns to energise the hardware industry and your business success from October 10-12 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, Shanghai, China.

According to the ‘2024 China Furniture Hardware Industry Development Report’ released by the China National Hardware Association: In 2023, the market size of China's furniture hardware industry was approximately 226.11 billion yuan. Over the next five years, the market is projected to grow at a CAGR of 7.6%, expanding to RMB 324.45 billion by 2028.

According to data from the Chinese Customs: In May 2025, China's exports of fasteners reached 567,200 tonnes, representing a YoY increa se of 15.5%. Export value rose to $1.08 billion USD, marking a 9.1% YoY growth.

Sales figures for British DIY chain Wickes picked up significantly in the second quarter. Compared to the same period last year, total sales rose by 7.7 percent to reach a volume of GBP 471.9 mio (Euro 541.0 mio). Like-for-like growth was 6.9 per cent. Within the retail division, the Trade Pro segment, i.e. the professional business, grew particularly strongly, according to the company.

German garden equipment manufacturer Al-Ko Gardentech has been acquired by Chinese manufacturer Ningbo Daye Garden Machinery. The acquisition took place in February but has only now been made public. It had already been announced in September 2024.

Malaysian retail chain Mr. DIY is continuing its expansion in Poland and has now opened its first store in the capital Warsaw. Located in the Galeria Wileńska shopping centre, it is larger than the existing Mr. DIY stores in Poland. Three more stores are planned to open in Warsaw this summer. Other Polish cities are also on the expansion list.
