Exhibiting companies and organizations from 19 countries and regions, making it the largest of its kind in Japan.
JIMTOF 2024 (The 32nd Japan International Machine Tool Fair), one of the largest machine tool exhibitions in the world, organized by the Japan Machine Tool Builders’ Association and Tokyo Big Sight Inc., will be held at Tokyo Big Sight for six days from November 5 (Tue.) to November 10 (Sun.), 2024, utilizing the entire Tokyo Big Sight, with a total exhibition area of 118,540㎡.
The number of exhibitors at JIMTOF 2024stands at 1,262 companies (including *1 direct exhibitors, *2 co-exhibitors, and *3 represented exhibitors) with 5,743 booths (including 53 exhibitors with 192 booths in the AM area). This is an increase of 175 companies and 125 booths compared to the previous JIMTOF2022, which was held in 2022, making it the largest event ever held.

The Academic Area was newly established to deepen understanding of the machine tool industry and “monozukuri” in the South Hall 4, where new events were concentrated in addition to the organizer's events that had been dispersed throughout the venue in past JIMTOFs. In particular, there will be a “Career Matching Square” where students can interact directly with general affairs and human resources staff from exhibiting companies, “Special Exhibits” including hands-on exhibits to deepen knowledge of the machine tool industry, “IMEC Poster Session” where researchpresentations from 53 institutions including industrial universities will be gathered in one place.
And the “Open Café” on the multipurpose stage is a relaxing space with beverage service and free Wi-Fi.
On Tuesday, November 5, the first day of the event, Mr. Akihiro Teramachi, Chairman and CEO of THK Corporation, and Mr. Shiro Nakamura, President of SN DESIGN PLATFORM Corporation, will deliver keynote speeches on the theme of “Bringing your dreams to manufacturing! THK’s pursuit of a new-concept EV”, In addition, Mr. Mitsuru Kawai, Executive Fellow, Toyota Motor Corporation, Mr. Teruyuki Iwasaka, Executive Officer, ICI Center, Maeda Corporation, and Ms. Akiko Otsuka, Senior Manager, Human Spaceflight Technology Center, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), will give special lectures. In addition, as a special parallel exhibition of JIMTOF2024, various seminars on AM/3D printing will be held daily at the organizer's seminar room in the “Additive Manufacturing Area in JIMTOF2024” on the 1st floor of the South Exhibition Hall.
JIMTOF INSIGHTS
JIMTOF launched “JIMTOF INSIGHTS,” a YouTube channel to support manufacturing in Japan, in June this year to convey “the appeal, satisfaction, and fun of the manufacturing industry” and to “improve the image of the manufacturing industry and increase awareness among young people, who are the future leaders of the industry. The channel will be updated not only during JIMTOF 2024, but also before, during, and after the exhibition period to actively disseminate information on the manufacturing industry. In addition to the “Shibaura Machinery Factory Tour” video that has already been released, new video content will be released in mid-October in conjunction with the JIMTOF2024 exhibition.
Shuttle Buses and Jumbo Taxis
Shuttle buses and jumbo cabs will be available to help visitors move efficiently from one hall to another within the large venue. In response to the staggered schedule of this year's JIMTOF, direct routes from the International Exhibition Hall Station and routes around the venue will be set up according to the time of the day to improve circulation.
