Roda Forge from the Northern Italian Canavese region has placed an order for a 6,000 ton press with Schuler’s affiliate
Göppingen/Turin, November 15, 2023 – The Canavese province is renowned not only for its excellent wine, but also for its high quality forging companies. For this reason, this Northern Italian region is also known as “Forge Valley”. One of its largest companies, Roda Forge, will soon have Farina’s largest installation of the whole area. Its owner, Donato Manieri, has recently placed an order for a 6,000 ton scotch-yoke press – a type of press Schuler’s Italian affiliate is specialized in.
Farina Presse’s client, located north of the city of Turin, has been in the forging business since mid-1970s. As such, it is highly specialised in the sector, and also boasts a mechanical machining department as of today. Roda Forge is a global company and ships its products all over the world, even though its main market is the European Union. The company collaborates with clients of paramount importance like Elso-Elbe, Kessler and Didimo Zanetti, among others.
With the introduction of the new press, the range of products covered will go from 0.5 to 75 kg in weight. The GLF 6000 R is the first machine Roda Forge has bought from Farina Presse. Not only is it very powerful, but also offers a high productivity with about 50 strokes per minute – an aspect which has been key in Donato Manieri’s decision to go ahead with this important investment: “In the forging business, the accuracy of the end product offered by state-of-the-art installations as well as great attention to energy saving is fundamental for being competitive. In addition to this, the decision is even easier to make if a system offers such great productivity, reliability, and precision like this press from Farina.”
