В 2022 году инвестиции в инфраструктуру и энергосбережение вырастут в Центральной и Восточной Европе на 40%

SEF Poland 2022: in 2022, investments in energy infrastructure and energy storage will increase by 40% in the region of Central and Eastern Europe

In 2022, the development of renewable energy in the region of Central and Eastern Europe will be determined by such major trends as the growing interest in next-generation clean energy technologies, the development of new business models in the field of solar energy, the evolution of supply chains, the development of energy infrastructure and the circular economy.

According to the IB Centre forecast, in 2022 investments in energy storage projects will increase by 40% to €560 million in the region of Central and Eastern Europe. At the same time investments in transmission infrastructure will increase by 40-45% to €900-950 million in CEE.

For instance, Poland’s transmission system operator Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne (PSE) plans to invest around PLN 4.5 billion (around €1 billion) by 2030 to prepare the grid for the electricity generated at future offshore wind farms in the Baltic Sea.

Solar and wind energy projects, in combination with energy storage, will become the basis for new, more sustainable business models and a new round of investment growth in the industry.

Green hydrogen will be the dominant next-generation technology that will be an active driver of the renewable energy industry in 2022.

Another trend in the industry is the growth of local production of equipment and components. Due to the pandemic and trade conflicts, many European companies have experienced serious disruptions in the supply of products from Asia. This became an incentive to diversify supplies and develop local industries. As expected, in 2022 in the region of Central and Eastern Europe total investments in local manufacture can exceed €270 million.

In 2022, end-of-life (EoL) management strategies or circular economy for renewable energy industry products and materials are likely to capture attention, as early PV and wind installations approach the end of their useful life. As expected, by 2030, decommissioned PV modules could total 4,5 million tons of waste, and there could be 400 metric kilotons of lithium-ion batteries to recycle globally.

These industry trends will be the focus of one of the key European events in the field of renewable energy - SEF 2022 Poland, 15th International Sustainable Energy Forum and Trade Show, which will be held in Krakow on July 14-15.

SEF 2022 Poland is a two days professional event dedicated to all the segments of renewable energy in Poland and all emerging markets in the region of Central and Eastern Europe.

SEF 2022 Poland will be represented by an international audience of 400+ participants, 30+ speakers, and more than 150 exhibitors.

Outstanding experts that present the SEF 2022 Poland line of speakers will provoke the two days discussion about the global energy and fuel market transformation, markets of solar, wind, bio, and hydrogen energy, energy storage, distributed energy generation, and new business models for the niche market development.

SEF 2022 Poland is IB Centre Inc – Innovative Business Centre that undertakes projects in the field of energy and eco-innovations and is a leading provider of conferences, trade shows, and training programs in the field of new energy and clean technologies with over 15 years of history and implemented projects from Brussels to Almaty, which have accelerated the formation of cleantech industry and, in particular, renewable energy and energy technologies in emerging markets.
