PlantStream was founded in 2020 as a joint venture between Arent Inc. and Chiyoda Corporation, and since 2025 has operated as a wholly owned subsidiary of Arent. Its 3D CAD system streamlines plant design workflows and introduces automatic pipe routing that can process around 1,000 pipes per minute, accelerating feasibility and front-end engineering design phases by up to 75%. The software has quickly attracted attention in oil & gas, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries for its ability to streamline workflows and support real-time collaboration.
With its global expansion, PlantStream faced the dual challenge of protecting intellectual property from unauthorized use and distributing licenses across organizations with diverse IT policies.
