WOOD TAIWAN 2026 Ends on a High Note: Driving Industry Transformation through Smart Manufacturing

Organized by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and the Taiwan Woodworking Machinery Association, the “Taiwan International Woodworking Industry and Furniture Manufacturing Show (WOOD TAIWAN 2026)” concluded successfully on April 26.

WOOD TAIWAN 2026 opened grandly on April 23 at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 1 and ran for four days

The show attracted 539 international buyers from 57 countries and regions. Top five buyer countries were Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Philippines. In addition, trade delegations came from Japan, Vietnam, and Malaysia, underscoring WOOD TAIWAN’s role as an international trade platform for the woodworking machinery industry.

Amid the ongoing upgrade and transformation of the global woodworking machinery industry, this year’s exhibition focused on four core technological areas: high-efficiency CNC machining equipment, turnkey automation solutions, AI-based intelligent inspection and data integration applications, and multi-material processing capabilities applicable to solid wood, plastics, and composite materials. These developments reflect the industry’s shift toward “intelligence, flexibility, and higher value-added production.”

In terms of technological applications, exhibitors showcased strong capabilities. INNOVATER applied AI technology for veneer grading and quality inspection, improving efficiency while reducing material waste. Anderson Group integrated automated storage systems to enable single-operator automated production lines, while also supporting multi-material processing. LEADERMAC combined sensing technologies with robotic systems to achieve fully automated production from loading to stacking, while enhancing machining stability and consistency through data feedback mechanisms.

Visitor turnout was strong, with emerging business opportunities and active on-site exchanges, fully demonstrating the market momentum and international attention toward the woodworking machinery industry

According to TAITRA, exhibitors responded positively to the show, noting that buyers came from emerging markets such as Africa and Central and Eastern Europe. Many of these buyers had previously sourced machinery primarily from Europe, but through on-site exchanges and negotiations, they gained a firsthand appreciation for Taiwan’s technological prowess. Several collaborations have already entered follow-up negotiation stages, indicating growing market expansion momentum. During the exhibition, OAV secured orders worth at least NT$10 million (US$312,500); LEADERMAC successfully entered the Japanese market and further strengthened cooperation opportunities with European buyers; and Kuang Yung Machinery obtained orders from Canada, Japan, Romania, and Malaysia, demonstrating strong business potential and global competitiveness.

The Timber Structure Sustainability Forum featured experts from New Zealand, who provided in-depth insights into current trends and applications in timber construction. The session was fully attended and received an enthusiastic response

The procurement meetings held during the exhibition also delivered outstanding results. Through one-on-one matchmaking sessions, supply and demand were effectively connected. The meetings attracted internationally recognized companies, including Akhurst Machinery, a major machinery distributor in North America; KLAUS Timber, a leading Czech pallet manufacturer; and A. Tuval Agencies, an Israeli woodworking machinery distributor. These sessions generated approximately NT$240 million (US$7.5 million) in business opportunities, further enhancing the global visibility of Taiwan’s woodworking machinery industry.

The “Savor the Grain” event featured a cross-industry collaboration with Wu Pao Chun Bakery, combining woodcraft ambiance with artisan baking flavors. The activity created an exchange platform that blends aesthetics and business opportunities.

The “Timber Structure Sustainability Forum” was fully attended, featuring speakers such as Tobias Smith, Managing Director of PTL Structural & Fire (New Zealand), and Professor Wan-Yu Liu from the Department of Forestry at National Chung Hsing University. They shared insights on timber construction safety design in high-seismic regions and industry strategies under the global net-zero emissions trend, offering forward-looking perspectives for the industry.

One of the highlights of the exhibition, “Savor the Grain” combined wood-inspired aromas with artisan baking to create a unique space that blends industry and lifestyle aesthetics. The event provided a relaxed setting for business interaction.

The next edition of WOOD TAIWAN is scheduled for 2029 and will continue to lead the latest trends in the woodworking machinery industry. For more updates, visit http://www.woodtaiwan.com.tw.
